Lost Dutchman State Park is a hidden gem in the Arizona desert. The drive there is scenic, and the park offers a unique camping experience with breathtaking views of the Superstition Mountains. Check in is easy at the entrance ranger station just of west of Apache Junction, AZ. Directions to the campground are well-marked.
Most sites are spacious and but offer limited shade. The ground is generally level and set up is easy. Water and electric is available but sewer hook-ups are not. There is a dump station in the park. Some sites have ramadas with provide an extra bit of shade during the day. Fire pits and picnic tables are at each site.
Clean bathrooms and showers are available. Firewood can also be bought from the camp hosts or at the ranger station.
The park offers amazing access to many trails leading into the Superstition Mountains. There are also many tourist activities, restaurants and shopping areas nearby.
Yes! This is one of our favorite state parks in Arizona.
