We arrived at the Lower Loop site and were immediately impressed with the layout and signage. The site was clean and well-maintained, with good spacing between units.
Not much shade, but the site was level and had a nice view of the surrounding desert landscape. The hookups were easy to access, and the picnic table was in good condition.
Restrooms and showers were clean and well-maintained. There are 2 bathroom facilities, one for each loop. Wifi is available but not always reliable.
Beautiful view of local mountains. Hiking trails are nearby. Tours of the caverns are available, but should be booked in advance. The visitor center has a small museum and gift shop. The caverns themselves are a must-see, with guided tours that showcase the stunning formations and history of the cave system. Cave system is fully accessible to those with mobility issues, one of the only caverns in the world that offers this accessibility. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, lizards, and small mammals. Trips to the surrounding areas are also recommended- Tombstone, Bisbee, and the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area are all within a short drive and offer unique experiences.
